In the afternoon of March 28, 2023, Vicki Sutton of Joseph City, Arizona passed away as a result of pneumonia. Vicki was surrounded by friends and family at the time of her passing. She was 62 years old.
Vicki was born on October 21, 1960, in Lake City, Minnesota. She was the fifth child, and the first daughter, of Robert and Barbara Miller. As a child, she lived in New Mexico and Iowa before moving to Florida and graduating from Venice High School in 1979. Upon graduation, she worked as a medical assistant and machinist. In 1995, she moved to Holbrook, Arizona to be closer to family.
Vicki joined the Navajo County Sheriff's Department as a detention officer in 1996. There, she met her husband, Sheriff's Deputy Bob Sutton. They were married in 2002 and she moved from Holbrook to Joseph City. Known for being sassy and tough, she worked in detention and transportation for 20 years before retiring in 2016. She then took another job with the county in the evidence division, where she worked until her passing.
Vicki was a passionate baker and her desserts, especially her cheesecakes, were sure to make her friends, family, and coworkers smile. She loved riding with Bob on their motorcycle and camping in their 5th wheel. She was a dedicated dog mom and chicken herder.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Bob Sutton; brothers Tony Miller, Craig Miller, and Larry Miller; sisters Kathy Miller and Ruth Stover; daughter Amber (Jeremy) Horn; daughters Bobbie Arries, Vickie Hall, and Nadine Bickett; sons Tony Sutton and Harold Speers; five grandchildren plus another on the way; and five great grandchildren.
