Josh was born in Silver City, New Mexico and spent the first 13 years of his life living in, first, Gila, New Mexico, then San Lorenzo, New Mexico, and finally settling with his family in Silver City, New Mexico. He would grow up there with his parents and siblings, playing, going to school, making friends, and riding horses. In 1998, because of work, his parents made the move to Morenci, Arizona, and the family followed suit.
Josh attended Morenci Junior and Senior High School. He was usually the smallest in his class, but he never let it get to him, because he was always tall on humor and friendship. Being diabetic, Josh didn’t really go for ball or physical sports, but he did join the chess club, where he excelled. Josh graduated from Morenci High School and moved to Safford to attend Eastern Arizona Junior College. For his two years there, he would major in Computer Programming.
In 2006, he would make his final big move to Show Low, Arizona with his parents and younger brother. While living in Show Low he would have several different jobs before he finally found his fit at Lowe’s Home Improvement. He started out as a night stocker, and moved his way up to the receiving department, making very good friends on the way up.
Josh never married nor had any children, although, he would have made a wonderful husband, and an awesome dad. He loved with all of his heart, and loved to entertain children by dressing up in all sorts of light up gear. He liked entertaining adults with that same light up gear too. But he spent many hours, with his nephews, building with Legos, which he seemed to enjoy the most.
Josh truly loved the White Mountains and loved calling it home. He was blessed with the ability to make people smile, and sometimes down right laugh, and if you needed an ear to listen, or just a hug to make your day better, he was the man for the job. He will be very and truly missed by family and friends alike.
He came to us in the Spring of ’85, and left us all too soon in the Winter of ’23.
Josh’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Owens Livingston Mortuary White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, AZ. Friends may visit between 10am and 12pm Saturday at the mortuary. Funeral services will begin immediately afterwards at 12pm at the mortuary. Burial will take place at Show Low Cemetery, Show Low, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, Josh once said if and when he passed away, he would like for donations to be sent to the diabetic research foundation of choice, as he always wanted someone to find the cure for diabetes.
