George Herbert Kestner, Jr.

George Hebert Kestner, Jr. passed away on June 8, 2022 in Show Low Arizona, he was 94 years old. 

He was born in Derry Township, Pennsylvania and was one of 6 children. It was there that he met and married his wife of 75 years, Peggy Holler.  They moved to Montana where they started a family of 5 children.  It was there he spent many happy hours hunting and fishing.  The family moved to Nevada in 1964 where he was employed by and retired from the local phone company.  They moved to Idaho to spend their retirement with his father and brother.  After visiting their daughter in Hawaii several times they decided to move there and spent many sun filled, hula dancing years in Paradise.  Health issues brought them back to the mainland where they eventually spent their later years living with their daughter Connie and her husband.  He was liked by many and almost everyone who described him said he was an exceedingly fair person. 

His wife Margaret (Peggy) pre-deceased him by three days and he is survived by four of his children, Elizabeth Kestner of Nevada; Joyce Clark of Illinois; Connie Sargeant of Arizona and George Kestner III of Nevada, as well as one sister, Gwen Goodell and one brother, Stuart Kestner.  He had five children; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and even a few great-great-grandchildren.  He will be missed by many.
