William Torbet

June 16, 1955 — January 16, 2025

It is with a heavy heart but a spirit filled with celebration that we announce the passing of William Walter Torbet, a cherished father, brother and friend, who rode off into the sunset on January 16, 2025. William, affectionately known as "Walt," was born on June 16, 1955, and lived life with a joyful spirit, leaving behind music, laughter, and a sage-like presence that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Walt was a true Texas soul, embodying the proud spirit of the Lone Star State with his signature cowboy hat and a big ole' mustache. His famous tagline, "Love and respect," resonated deeply with all he met, reflecting his strong values and love for his family and friends. He spent many nights entertaining friends and family strumming his guitar and singing songs.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Sharon Parrish, son-in-law Robert Parrish, and son Dillan Payton. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren Josh and Sarah Parrish, along with brothers Wes and Claude Torbet, sisters Fran Overton and Wanda Torbet, and nephew Casey Lusk. The bond they shared with him will remain unbreakable, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who had the honor of calling him family or friend.

To honor Walt's life, a celebratory reception will take place at the Ranch House Saloon on January 25, 2025, at 3:00 PM, where stories and songs will be shared in his memory. A graveside service will precede the reception at R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery, where family and friends will gather at 2:15 PM to pay their respects under the vast Arizona sky. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 PM at Owens Livingston Mortuary ~ Heritage Chapel, allowing all who loved him to say their goodbyes.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us raise a glass and celebrate the life he lived-filled with good times, great music, and an unyielding love for family. Adios, Lone Lobo! The cowboy rides away, but his spirit will forever linger in our hearts and in the melodies he shared.
