William Franklin Shepherd, 67, passed away at his home, in Show Low, Arizona on Friday, September 1, 2023. He was born March 1, 1956 in Tularosa, New Mexico, with Dr. Klump attending. He was born to Martha Mitchell-Shepherd and Arthur "Shep" Shepherd.
He grew up in Tularosa and spent time with his maternal grandparents, Mary and Luis Mitchell. He later lived and attended school part-time in Anaheim and Riverside, California, with his mother and "Dad", Ernest E Canady, and the other part, with his grandparents in New Mexico.
As an adult he chose to remain and work in New Mexico, where he participated in a project written up in the National Pipeline Magazine as "The Impossible Pipeline". While there he met his wife of 43 years, Fern C. Gammon-Shepherd. They had three sons together and lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After that he lived in Show Low for 35 years, until the time of his death.
He enjoyed fishing, making beautiful landscapes, and telling jokes. He truly loved the several large white dogs that were his companions throughout his life.
Funeral Services are planned for November 4, 2023 at the Show Low City Park at 1pm.
