William Frederick Katzenberger

On Friday, April 9, 2021, William Frederick Katzenberger “Fred,” loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son, passed away at the age of 60.

Fred was born on November 22, 1960 in Oak Park, Illinois to William and Joan (Magnuson) Katzenberger. Fred served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 82^nd Airborne. After his service, Fred spent most of his career as a Landscape Contractor, owning his own business in the Phoenix area. In 1985 he married the love of his life, Debora Sue Martin “Debbie” and have spent the last 35 years loving each other, laughing together, and creating a beautiful life together.  They raised two sons, Jesse Hogue and David Hogue and have five grandchildren that Fred loved spending time with.   

Fred enjoyed tinkering with old cars, watching car shows, and taking care of his Chevy Chevelle. He had a passion for the outdoors, gardening and watching things grow. He was able to accomplish his dream owning his home in the woods and Fred and Debbie spent the last three years enjoying their home in Pinedale, Arizona. Fred enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, and walking his dogs everyday around his property. He was also an avid astronomy lover and enjoyed looking at the night sky through his telescope.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Joan. He is survived by his wife Debbie, his two sons Jesse and David, father William, sister Debra, niece Kendra, and his grandchildren Justin, Chloe, Morgan, Ryan and Casey.

A celebration of life and service will be announced at a later date.
