Waynette Marie (Van Schoyck) Warrick passed away on December 18, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born November 28, 1941 in Tucamcari, New Mexico to George Wayne and Leslye Eleanor Van Schoyck.
Waynette, aka Netter, grew up in Walsenburg, Colorado. She had two sisters that always made her laugh and whom she shared a special bond with. She graduated from Huerfano County High School in 1959, where she had been Homecoming Queen.
On March 6, 1962 she was married to Frank Warrick. They became the owners of Elite Tile and Marble and served their community for decades until they retired. They were married for 55 years before he passed away. Waynette cherished taking short trips in their motor home with her husband, family and friends, exploring the river, beach, and mountains. Her generosity shone brightly on these adventures, as she always took the lead in planning activities and preparing meals for everyone. Her friends hold dear the memories of those times, staying up late by the fire or playing games together. She deeply loved the life she and her husband, Frank, had built, the family they created and the friends they made along the way.
She was a loving, thoughtful and fun grandma! Her grandchildren made wonderful memories in her home, both as children and adults. Visits to Grandma's house felt like going home! She loved to have her family over visiting on the back patio on the golf course or cozying up on the sectional in front of the TV. Her grandchildren will always remember her as a gentle nurturer, who always showed up for them when they needed help. Her heart and generosity knew no bounds and her door was always open.
Survivors include: sister, Margaret Van Scholyck Gleisberg, sons, Jim and Darren Warrick; daughters-in-law, Diana and Michelle Warrick; granddaughters, Jenna Lopez, Devon Warrick, Ashlee Warrick, and Kaylee Warrick; great-grandkids, Norah and Wells Lopez; and many loved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her parents; and her sister Judith Van Schoyck.
