Vickie L. Garcia, joined our Heavenly Father in the arms of her loving children at her home in Show Low, Arizona on March 14, 2018. She was born in Cullman, Alabama on April 12, 1943, the third child of four born to Redie and Corla Robertson. Her family moved to Arizona when she was just a teenager, where she attended Florence High School. Shortly after leaving high school she moved to Tucson and met the love of her life, Frank P. Garcia. They married and lived in Tucson for several years and raised their family of two daughters, Janette and Michelle “Micki” Garcia. Once the girls were teenagers, they sold their family home and moved to the country, in Show Low, Arizona. They resided there for several years and then lived in other areas of Arizona, including Payson and Apache Junction, before purchasing another home in Show Low, Arizona. After a while they moved in with their daughter, Janette, in Globe, Arizona where they resided for two years, before returning to Show Low to live with their daughter, Micki, where Vickie passed away. She grew up working in the cotton fields and worked in factories sewing. Later, while working in Tucson, she worked for General Electric for several years, before they moved their operations to Mexico. She also worked for Precision Shooting for several years. Once in Show Low she worked at Safeway and Circle K, prior to retirement. She spent several years as the care taker for the love of her life, Frank Garcia. She was very kind and caring and would share anything she had, including her love to all she knew. She had many people who loved her, and her family was her world. She read her bible daily, until she became too ill and her eye sight too poor to carry on this daily activity. She saved everything anyone ever gave her and would put notes on all of it. Right down to a rock or a penny that had special meaning to her. She was the glue that held the family together. She always put those she loved as her biggest priority. She made it a point to speak to her children daily and keep her family close. Everyone that met her loved her cheerful, loving personality. She always had an open ear, an open heart, and an open door. Vickie L. Garcia is proceeded in death by the love of her life, Frank P. Garcia; her mother, Clora (Johnson) Robertson; her father Redie Robertson; her sisters, Frankie (Mike) Noriega and Audrey (James) Sanborn, and nieces and a nephew. She leaves behind her daughters, Janette (Tommy) Kimbrough in Globe, Michelle “Micki” (Mike) Burtora in Show Low; her brother Carlton (Dorene) Robertson in Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Clayton Kimbrough, Aaron (Shannon) Kimbrough, Kayleen (Gavin) Keith, Kevin and Candance Keith. She also left behind her great grandchildren, Nevaeh Quiroz, Kolton Martinez, Avah Quiroz, Kiliyan Kimbrough, Xander Keith, Adalyn Kimbrough, & Deakyn Clark, as well as one on the way, all in Show Low or Globe Az; as well as nieces and nephews, and grandchildren who adopted her as “grandma” that became part of the family over the years. A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at Owens Livingston Mortuary in Show Low, Arizona on Monday March 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place later this spring.
