Trinidad Anchondo

June 3, 1945 — August 21, 2024

Trinidad "Trini" Rodelas de Anchondo, age 79, passed away on August 21, 2024, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on June 3, 1945, in Chihuahua, Mexico. Throughout her life, she exemplified love, strength, and resilience, deeply influencing all who knew her.

Trini was the fifth child in a family of 16. She described herself as a daddy's girl and spirited kid in stories of her youth; working alongside her father in the fields, riding horses bareback, and climbing on rooftops. These experiences instilled in her a lifelong love for the outdoors and agriculture. Her evenings spent sleeping under the stars were among her fondest memories. She carried this passion into her flower beds, cultivating beautiful roses and flowers that brought joy to her home.

Trini was a beacon of warmth and caring. Her home was a welcoming place where family and friends were always greeted with humor and nourishment. She was known for her wonderful sense of humor, often marked by her love for making inappropriate jokes. Her cooking turned simple dishes into memorable feasts. Anyone visiting should be prepared to be fed, whether hungry or not. Trini proudly wore the titles of daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt but her most cherished roles were those of grandmother and great-grandmother. She credited her grandkids with brightening her days and keeping her youthful. She could often be found dancing with a grandchild around her kitchen.

Trini was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church, where she found spiritual solace and community. Her faith was an integral part of her life and provided her with great comfort and joy.

She leaves behind her spouse, Raul Anchondo; children Martha Rosales, Maria Knowles, Juana Brazil, Jesus B. Perrino, Tomas Anchondo, Jose Anchondo, Atocha Brown, and Yoli Sizemore; sons-in-law Benjamin Rosales, Jeremy Knowles, Aaron Brazil, Greg W. Brown, and Allen Sizemore; 28 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and her cherished siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Trini was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Rodelas and Monserrate Simental; brothers Manuel and Marcial "Chalo" Rodelas; sister Martha Olivia Rodelas; children Raul Anchondo Jr and Guillermo Anchondo; grandchild Ben Rosales; and sons-in-law Antonio Ventura and Joseph Perrino.
