Susie Joy Button Palmer

(August 11, 1933 – August 7, 2022)

Susie Joy Button Palmer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend died August 7, 2022, at her daughter’s home in Mesa, Arizona.  She was born August 11, 1933, in Fredonia, Arizona.  She was the 6^th of 7 children born to Ralph M. Button and Susannah Dobson. 

She married her sweetheart Kenneth Van Palmer in the St George temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 21, 1953.

Joy attended Northern Arizona University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  Joy taught school in the Holbrook school system for thirty plus years.

She spent her life serving others in her family, community, and in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She is survived by her children: David (Peggy) Palmer, Susan Jenkins, Tammie (Duane) Burt, Melodie (John [deceased]) Burbank, and Randy Kent (Barbara[deceased]) Palmer.  She also had many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with a total posterity of 117. 

A public visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday August 19, 2022, with the funeral service at 11:00 AM Saturday August 20, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 1430 N. Grand Mesa, AZ 85201.
