Solan Svihlik, age 15, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018, in Lakeside, Arizona. Solan was a student at Blue Ridge Junior High and will forever be a Yellow Jacket. He was born on July 18, 2003 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Frederick J. and Erica L. (nee Nunley) Svihlik.
Solan had a zest for life and an ability to build bridges between people, recognizing small details in people and nurturing and supporting individuals’ unique talents. Always willing to help and showing up on time are just a few attributes of his spark and his love of all living things. Volunteering at The Love Kitchen brought a few more people a chance to see him shine. Solan was a snappy dresser who influenced others to step up their game and “get up, dress up, show up”. He loved to explore the many trails surrounding his home in Lakeside and would always be seen riding his bicycle around town. His love for music inspired him to start a band with his best friend Silas.
Solan was preceded in death by his Mother, Erica. He is survived by his Father Fred; Sister Passia ;Paternal Grandfather Frederick Svihlik; Uncles Bennie and David and Aunt Laurie; Sister Thea F. Beaumont; Maternal Grandparents Mary Lou and Allen; and many cousins and friends that include Silas, Quentin, Ezekiel, Alex, Adrian, Chris, Adriana, Malachi, Tatiana, Molly, and many, many others.
Family, Friends and others whose lives were touched by Solans wonderful light are invited to celebrate his life and love on Friday, September 21, 2018, at Mountain Meadow Park in Pinetop/Lakeside beginning at 1pm. Lasting until all are consoled. There will be Solans favorite meal of hamburgers and french fries. Please join us that we all may reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course just chat. The family would like to express a deep gratitude to Owens Living Mortuary for services provided, as well as the whole staff and student body of Blue Ridge Junior High and The Love Kitchen for all help and support in this trying time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations of time or funding to The Love Kitchen or Blue Ridge Junior High (Go Jackets!)
