Sandra Lee Rova

Sandra Lee Rova, 73 of Show Low passed away Tuesday evening, July 31, 2018 at her home in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona.  She was born on October 3, 1944 to Albert Charles and Virginia Bernice (Hughes) Rova in Alhambra, Los Angeles County, California.  Sandra was the 2nd oldest of 5 children.  As a child growing she enjoyed reading.  She became a second mother to her siblings stepping in to help raise them as her mom was ill.  She began working at the age of 13 and when she turned 15 she received her drivers license so that she could do the running for her family.  She graduated from High School and attended Cerritos College graduating with her Masters Degree.

Sandy met Whittie Allen Rova at the beginning of 1979 while attending a church dance in Bellflower, Californina.  They were married a very short time later on January 13, 1979.  The couple moved back to Show Low where she began to work for Shamrock Foods.  Sandy and Allen also ran the Apache Pine Motel with Verde and Arlee Maxwell, Sr. 

Sandy was a very active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She enjoyed being a Temple Worker, Sunday School Teacher and helping in the Compassionate Service program. 

Sandy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Whittie Allen Rova; siblings, Cathy Valencia, Dennis Hughes, Darla Esterbrook and Martha Lacko; her sister-in-law, Marry Wallenberg; brothers-in-law, Marc Rova, Russell "Pinky" Rova and Bill Rova; numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family.

The public visitation and friends' calling will be from 9:30 A.M. - 10:40 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Downtown Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 300 N. 11th Street, Show Low.  Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 A.M. The Concluding Service and Interment will immediately follow at the Show Low Cemetery.
