Robert William DeRamus

Robert W. DeRamus “Bob” passed away peacefully in his home April 19, 2022 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease.

Bob was born in 1948 in Miami, AZ as a 3^rd generation Arizonan.  He moved to Kearney, AZ where he graduated from Ray High School in 1967.  He then attended NAU where he graduated with a BA in 1971.  He moved to Show Low in 1973 where he worked for WM Independent as a reporter and eventually manager.  He met Barbara Parnell in the course of that job and they married in 1977,  He went to work for NPC in 1978 and remained there until his retirement.

Bob loved trains, Snoopy and reading books or the newspaper.  He also loved to buy and distribute treats to his neighbors.  One of Bob’s favorite quotes was “talking comes by nature, silence by wisdom” author unknown.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter Colleen, and his sister Carol Gillan.  He is preceded in death by his favorite nephew Brian Gillan and hoped to be reunited with him.

In lieu of sympathy gifts, Bob’s family requests donations be made to NPC Scholarship Fund in his name.
