Raymond Joseph Prust "Ray" was born on December 8, 1928 in Stiles, Oconto County, Wisconsin. He was the 2nd of 10 children born to Carl & Ruby (Truckey) Prust. He passed away peacefully in the early morning hour with his niece and nephew by his side on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Show Low, Navajo County, Arizona.
Ray grew up in Wisconsin and when he became of age he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served from 1957 - 1960 during the Korean War "The Forgotten War". Out of the 10 children born to Carl and Ruby ALL 5 of the boys served in one capacity or another for the United States Military, this was an honor that they were all very proud of. After being relieved of his duties with an "Honorable Discharge" Ray began to work in the Lime Plant in Wisconsin. When Ray retired he and his father Carl moved to Arizona in 1992 to be closer to his brothers where he continued to take care of his father.
Ray was the meekest man you have ever met, he was always grateful for each and every person who came into his life, if you had the privilege to meet Ray, you knew you always had a friend. He always made sure to tell each and every person who came to visit him "Thank You for stopping by". Ray loved his horse, and his music, especially Polka and Old Country.
Ray is survived by 2 siblings, a brother, David Prust and a sister, Collette Mary Jackson; sister-in-law, Judy Prust; niece Maria (Mitch) Garvin and children Michaela and Cory; nephew, Joe (Melissa) Prust; niece, Sandy (Tom) Thomas and children, Raymond, Christopher, and Mary as well as numerous extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jack "John" Prust, Margaret "Peg" Prust, Evelyn Prust Tappa, Archie Prust, Chuck Prust, Ann Prust Thibadeau, Theresa Prust Vandeberg.
The family also would like to acknowledge Tasha Serrano, Becky Burleson, Chaplain Kevin Weaver and the staff with Hospice Compassus for all the kindness they have shown to Uncle Ray during the past few years.
