Rachel Cheney

Rachel Cheney was called to heaven on October 21, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Winslow, Arizona on April 8, 1934.

She graduated from Winslow High School. Rachel married Robert (Bob) Cheney on December 24, 1953, and together they raised 7 children. She worked at the Painted Desert Inn as a Fred Harvey Girl, Hilltop Café, Wilson & Russian Attorney-at-law Office, and the Department of Economic Security.

Rachel is survived by her children, Rosalie Fischer (Don), Victoria Salmons, Nancy Canada (Wil), Timothy Cheney and David Cheney; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces & nephews; and sisters, Lousia Keller and Petronila Brinkley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Candelaria Ramirez; sister, Nora Breeze; brothers, Macedonio, Juan, Pablo and Romolo Ramirez; husband, Bob; twin sons, Robert and Richard; granddaughters, Crystal and Kimberly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Holbrook, AZ.

Rosary and Mass will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 225 E. Arizona St., Holbrook, Arizona.
