On November 10, 2018, Oliver Glenn Taylor, 84, departed this life to join his eternal sweetheart and love of his life, Dixie. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his children at his daughter Cindy's home in Santa Clara, Utah. Cindy lovingly cared for him the last weeks of his life. Glenn was born on December 11, 1933, to Alma and Florabel Taylor in Mesa, Arizona. He was raised in Lehi, Arizona along with seven brothers and one sister. All have preceded him in death except for his older brother, Gene Taylor.
On March 6, 1953, he married Dixie Marie Chalk in the Mesa Arizona Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dixie passed away in 2010 after 57 years of marriage. They loved living in Snowflake and Taylor for 55 years, where Glenn worked at the Snowflake Papermill. He retired in 1995. As a life time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he loved serving in the church, especially as a home teacher. He served two church missions with his wife. The first mission was served in Nauvoo, Illinois from 1996 to 1998 and the second in Cove Fort, Utah in 2000. He loved camping, hunting and fishing as well as all sporting events.
Glenn is preceded in death by his sweetheart, Dixie Chalk Taylor and by his grandson, K.C. Merrill. He is survived by their eight children: Debbie (Randy) Tenney, Cindy Nikolaus, Glenn (Jeri) Taylor, Beverly (Kevin) Merrill, Scott, (Natalie) Taylor, Lauri (Doug) LeSueur, Chris (Tandy) Taylor, Sandi (Will) Petersen; 80 grandchildren (including spouses); 101 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will begin promptly at 2:00 P.M., at the Silver Creek Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 300 W. Willow Lane in Taylor, Arizona where the visitation will begin one hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, Arizona.
