Nola June (Petersen) Applegate was born on January 7, 1962, in Show Low Arizona to Darwin and Emily Petersen. She entered into her eternal rest on June 9, 2022.
Nola spent her childhood and teen years growing up in the White Mountains, where she graduated from Show Low High School.
She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. She made it a point to have multiple annual family vacations, enjoying many miles on the road traveling to various different places. She loved going on walks around the lake and she provided the ducks with a nice treat. Over the last couple years she found a new love of kayaking and would paddle along the lake with family.
A collector of all sorts, she instinctively found the perfect gift to give contributing to her infamous quote “Do you like it, it’s yours.” This passion and gift allowed her to excel at estate sales, delighting in a new part of the community.
She had a tender heart and always had room for “one more”. Her home was open to anyone in need. She became a foster Mom to several children over the years. As the years passed she even became a foster for animals. She was an active member of the San Juan Animal League for 5 plus years and saved countless animal lives through coordinating adoption runs and shuttling dogs out of shelters with euthanasia.
She was a Mom, Sister, Aunt, Daughter and a Grandma.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and giving, even in death she gave the gift of life as an organ donor.
Survivors include; siblings Dottie, Pete (Marisa), Tami (Eddie), Perry (Dee). Children Joshua (Edna), Christopher (Angela), Daniel (Makayla), Crystal (Aaron), Jac. Her seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
