Murphy Carroll

In loving memory of Murphy Carroll of McNary, Arizona born on April 24, 1942 in Whiteriver, AZ. He went home to Our Heavenly Father on December 1, 2018 in Phoenix, AZ.

Murphy spent all of his life in McNary and Whiteriver. He worked for about 45 years in different occupations. He worked for 20 years for the Southwest Forest Industries sawmill in McNary in the Greenchain, Planer and Moulding Plants. He was employed at Sunrise Ski Resort as a Maintenance Supervisor for a few years. He then worked at the FATCO and the Remanufacturing Plant for 22 years until his retirement in the Spring of 2004. He enjoyed the outdoors very much in the cool mountains and tall pines. He knew the region very well where he spent most of his childhood and adult years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodcutter in his spare time. He travelled by horseback with his grandfather to many parts of the reservation when he was a boy and told many fond stories of those experiences. He will be missed very much by his family and relatives.

He is survived by his children: Fernando Carroll, Pamela (WIlfred Case) Carroll; Orlando & Wilceta Carroll; Cynthia Carroll, Jimmie & Priscilla Carroll, Lancione & Stellyn Carroll, Sheila Carroll and Shelly Carroll. He is also survived by his sisters: Alethia C. Bonito; Ramona C. Tenijieth; brother: Matthew Carroll and Aunt Luna C. Kessay of Diamond Creek. He had 25 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; 12 nephews and 15 nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents Hannon and Alice (Roosevelt) Carroll; sisters Eunice C. Stago & Elena C. Hill and several siblings.

There will be a Wake beginning at his home in McNary across from the Lutheran Church at 10 o'clock A.M. on Friday, December 6. The funeral service will be at 10 o'clock A.M. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the McNary School Gymnasium officiated by Pastor Leonard Fall. Burial will follow at the McNary Ponderosa Cemetery. The family invites the Tribal Chairwoman, Vice-Chairman, Tribal Council Members, gospel singers and speakers to the Wake. Thank You in advance from the family for the prayers, condolences and support.
