Melinda Sue Adair

November 7, 1968 — August 30, 2018

Our sweet sister, Melinda Adair, passed away August 30th surrounded by her family.  Melinda was born November 7, 1968.  She came into this world early, and left too early.  Melinda became our little sister from the day she arrived at our home, when she was just 5 weeks old. We all fell in love with the cute, bright eyed, dimple-grinned sweet girl. Her parents,  Guy and Beverly Adair, had no doubt that they were going to adopt this little bundle of joy.

Her best friend was her mom. You would never see one without the other.

Melinda worked alongside her parents at the Top 20 Music Store and The Shoe Box after she graduated from Holbrook High School, until the stores closed, in 2014.

Melinda loved to do puzzle books, canvas yarn work and writing. She loved everything that could be done with office supplies and she was always very organized.

Music, Michael Jordan, Murder She Wrote, Cake Wars, Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Cash Cab and Hallmark movies were also some of her favorite things.

Melinda was diagnosed with Lupus when she was 26. She bravely lived with this condition for 23 years. There were good days and bad days. She never complained when the bad days would arrive, and she would fight until the very end.

She is survived by her sisters Debby (Earl) Kester, Vera Lusk and Lois (Gerald) Hancock. Brothers, David Adair and Joel (Angie) Adair and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Guy in 2015 and mother, Beverly in 2016. Her brother-in-law, Don Lusk, in 2014. Along with her nephew, Cody Stouard in 2017 and niece, Nikki Fulgencio in 2018.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to her doctor, Dr. Alan DeWitt and her Hospice Compassus nurse, Ashlee Raisor.  Your love and care helped her, and all of us, through this difficult journey.

Services will be held September 10th at 10:00 A.M. at Owens Livingston Mortuary Chapel, 409 N 1st Avenue, Holbrook, Arizona. Melinda will be laid to rest next to her parents at the Holbrook Cemetery.
