Mary Eloise Guyette Cataldo of Show Low, AZ passed away peacefully March 23, 2024,
at the age of 84. Mary was born November 26,1939, in St. Albans, VT, the daughter of
Martha Amanda Hance and Albert Aldie Simard and later adopted by Glenna and
Robert Guyette. She was raised in St. Albans Bay, VT and relocated to New London,
CT in 1956, proudly retaining aspects of her Northern New England heritage (hard
working, self-sufficient, curious, a dry sense of humor with a tinge of devilment).
Mary graduated from New London High School and pursued a nursing career based on
her desire to help others and make a difference. First at Lawrence and Memorial
Hospital in New London, CT and then as a dialysis nurse at Middlesex Hospital in
Middletown, CT. She later launched a new career as a Case Manager for Blue Shield
Blue Cross of CT. She also resided in Atlanta, Denver, and Heber where she was a
friend to many. All throughout her life she was a loving pet owner and one who pursued
spiritual growth.
She was predeceased by her husband Samuel Kaye Cataldo, a sister Connie Raymond
of Shelburn, VT, and brothers Wayne and Lionel Simard of Mineville, NY. Mary is
survived by her daughter Victoria Cataldo, her son Mark Cataldo, and two
granddaughters, Shannon and Megan, all of Aurora, CO. Also survived by a sister
Sandra Calabrese (Carlo) of Witherbee, NY, Laurence Ramus (Judy) of Waterford, CT,
Albert Simard of Plattsburgh, NY and a number of nieces and nephews.
