Marlene McClanahan died Saturday morning, January 1, 2022, at her home in Show Low, Arizona, with family at her bedside. She was 78 years old. Marlene was born on a Tuesday, April 13, 1943, in Virden, Hidalgo County, New Mexico to her parents, the late Kenneth Lytle and Mar (Payne) Watson.
As a toddler, Marlene moved to Arizona with her family. Marlene spent her life in the service of others. For years, hers was a familiar and friendly face at several restaurants on the mountain including: El Rancho and Charlie Clark's in Pinetop and the White Mountain Cafe and The Branding Iron in Show Low.
Her number one priority was always her family and she loved and adored each member of it. Marlene is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 41 wonderful years, Bob McClanahan; Her 3 loving children: Darci Lynn and her husband, Ray, Marjean and Arthur Ray. She loved to spoil her grandchildren: Acaesha Mar and her husband, Anthony and Nicholas Andrew and his wife, Destri. She also was a great-grandmother, which she loved dearly: Amaray, Zariah, Jazaya, Urijah, Noah and Atasha. She will be greatly missed and "will forever remain in our hearts."
The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 10, 2022, at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street in Show Low, Arizona where the visitation and viewing will begin one hour prior. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the City of Show Low Cemetery.
