Marion Ray Hansen, age 93, passed away February 24, 2024. He was born June 24, 1930 to Junius and Mollie Hansen in Lakeside, Arizona.
Ray was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had many callings in the church, his favorite was being a temple worker in the Mesa Arizona Temple for 12 years, and the Snowflake Temple for 13 years. Ray and Ethel served a mission at Temple Square in Salt Lake City from 1993-1994.
Ray served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-50. He later worked for the U.S. Dept of Defense Navy Dept. for 34 years. He retired as a Supervisor Electronics Engineer from the U.S. Naval Weapons Systems Engineering Station at Port Huineme, California, with 37 years of government service.
Ray and Ethel moved from California to Snowflake, Arizona in 1990 where they built a new home, just west of the Golf Course.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ethel; oldest son, Douglas; sister, Sherley; and brother, Jay.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Centennial Blvd Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 880 N. Centennial Blvd., Taylor, Arizona 85939, with a viewing from 9:00-9:45.
Burial will follow at the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery.
