Marilyn Freeman Clonts, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Snowflake, Arizona, at the age of 88. She was born on October 27, 1935, in Snowflake, AZ to Rial and Faun (Standifird) Freeman.
Marilyn graduated from Snowflake High School in May 1953 and earned her nursing degree from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in 1956. She married Darold Clonts, on December 22, 1956, in Snowflake, Arizona and they were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 30, 1962.
Throughout her life, Marilyn dedicated herself to her family, community and her church. Marilyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked as a nurse at Mt. Graham Community Hospital in Safford, Arizona, and served on the board of directors for the Graham County ARC program, advocating for disabled community members.
Marilyn was a devoted genealogist, often sharing captivating stories of her ancestors with her children and grandchildren. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she held numerous callings within her church community, including many years of service in the scouting program, proudly supporting her seven boys.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Douglas, Wayne (Jill), Ben (Amy), Daniel (Dana), Jared, and Samuel; her brother, Stan Freeman; her 29 grandchildren; and her 25 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Darold Clonts; her son, Matthew Clonts; and her siblings, George, Jennine, Dixie, Shirley, and Sally.
A cherished figure in the lives of all who knew her, Marilyn's kindness and generosity were her greatest strengths. Family was her greatest treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all.
The funeral and graveside services will be held as follows:
Funeral: Friday November 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm, with a family viewing at 1:00 pm at Silver Creek Stake Center, 309 W. Willow, Taylor, Arizona.
Graveside: Saturday November 2, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Central Arizona Cemetery, 1851 N Central, Cemetery Rd, Central, Arizona. (There will a short graveside service with thoughts, song and dedication of grave for those who would like to attend.)
