Lydia was born on October 21, 1957, in Whiteriver, Arizona to Robinson and Maudie Foster. Lydia Butterfield was a busy body. You never saw her have a lazy day. She was always outside working on her yard and garden. She also loved spending time with and raising her grandkids. Lydia expressed how much she enjoyed the outdoors through many ways. One way this passion was expressed was through 40 plus years of service as a member of the All-Women’s Firefighting Crew Apache 8, and as a Pre-Sales Timber Marker. She has touched all 4 corners of the White Mountain Apache Reservation and knew every single back road that the reservation has to offer. Lydia loved her family dearly and would often go over and beyond for them. Lydia departed this earthly life on July 14, 2022, in Whiteriver, AZ, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Dan Butterfield, Sr., sons, Dan Butterfield, Jr., Brennen Butterfield and Todd Craft; daughters Alfreda Lane and Fallon Lane; traditional god-daughters Celeste Damon and Lee Rose Kasey; grandkids Justine Butterfield, Justin Butterfield, Taylor Butterfield, Brianna Butterfield, Aubrey Butterfield, Bradley Lane, Laci Lane, Kelsey Lane, Gavin Butterfield, Brennae Butterfield, Shaelynn Hill, Rashod Butterfield, Caley Craft, and Kansas Craft. A wake will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at the family home in Whiteriver, AZ. Services will be the following day on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. at the family home in Whiteriver.
