Louise Audrie Wyant died early in the morning of Saturday, May 11, 2019, at her home in Show Low, Arizona from a several years battle with Alzheimer’s Disease . She was 92 years old. Audrie was born on July 18, 1926, in Long Beach, Los Angeles County, California.
Audrie moved to Arizona in the early 1970s and lived several years in the Verde Valley. For many years, Audrie worked as a waitress and was loved by her community. While in Camp Verde, Audrie served as the ward organist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for many years. Music was her life and she loved singing at every chance presented to her. When Audrie moved to the White Mountains, she fell in love with the beauty of the area.
Audrie lived at the Solterra Senior Living in Lakeside and was well thought of by, not only the residents there but, the entire staff as well. Even with her advanced stage of Alzheimer’s, Audrie still was blessed with the ability to play the piano and sing for the residents. Her favorite songs were gospel hymns. Her family marveled at this tender mercy she was given during the height of her illness. They found a great deal of comfort that, somewhere deep inside the recesses of her mind, she still had a connection with those things spiritual. They loved listening to her sing, as her voice was as beautiful as ever.
Her family meant the world to her and she loved each member of her family more than words can express. When she was able, she loved serving them as a loving mother and doting grandmother. One of the things that made her family smile was her gentle manner in expressing her concern for life's little hiccups: “Oh dear! What can the matter be?” If they heard it once, they heard it a thousand times!
Oh, how this sweet lady will be missed by her large family and circle of friends. Her love was constant and unconditional. Audrie is survived by her 3 children: Bob (Teres) Wyant of Lakewood, California, Kay (Ralph) Nye of Lake Montezuma, Arizona, Nancy (Rich) Brundridge of Show Low, Arizona; 1 brother, Jimmy (Pat) Womack of Simi Valley, California; 1 sister, Martha Hinkle of Hemet, California; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren with another one due any day! She was preceded in death by her husband, James Everett Wyant, Jr.; 1 grandson, Ralph Nye, Jr. and her parents.
The graveside service will begin 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Show Low Cemetery in Show, Arizona. All family and friends are warmly invited to attend the service.
