Lorna Gay Towell

Lorna Gay Towell of Snowflake passed away on Wednesday March 17th, 2021. After spending a week in the hospital and receiving a kidney failure diagnosis, she wanted to go home and be surrounded by family. She was brought home on Monday March 8th and family quickly pulled together to grant her final wishes.

Lorna was born on Tuesday May 19th, 1942 to the late Logan and Leola Evans in Heber, Arizona in her grandmother's house. She was the youngest of nine children. Logan and Leola divorced when Lorna was very young. Leola later married Mike Ramsey when Lorna was three. She grew up in Heber Woodruff, and Snowflake. As a teenager she lived with her sister Vivian in California, to help with her children.

Lorna married the love of her life Robert (Bob) Towell on August 12th, 1960 in Snowflake Az. Together they raised six children, moving from place to place before settling in Snowflake. They were married for 55 years before Bob passed away in 2015.

Although she excelled at many jobs, she considered taking care of her family her greatest accomplishment. Lorna loved going on trips to visit family and was always thrilled to have her family visit her. Although she loved traveling she always said the one place she would never return to is New York. She absolutely despised it. She never missed an episode of "Days of Our Lives". Lorna enjoyed crocheting, doing puzzles, and collecting figurines of dragons and wizards.

Lorna is survived by her sister Gloria Villa, brother Doyle Evans; children Gaylene (Aaron) Boyd, Bobby, Connie, Dale, Roguen; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and numerous extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Towell; Parents Logan Evans, Leola and Mike Ramsey; Siblings Vivian, Penny, Dee, Nora, Donny, and Merlin; Daughter Crickett and great-granddaughter Zoey.

Services for Lorna are scheduled for Saturday March 27th, 2021. A viewing will be held from 12-1 PM at Owens Livingston Mortuary in Snowflake immediately followed by graveside services at R.V. Mike Ramsey Cemetery in Snowflake.
