With heavy hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of the beloved Lorna Elaine Barger Mitchell. Born in Santa Barbara, California, Lorna brought light and laughter to all who knew her.

Lorna Lived in Carpinteria, CA until she was 7 years old . Her Parents purchased Holbrook Tribune-News, Snowflake Herald and Winslow Mail in 1969 and the family relocated to Holbrook , AZ.

During her formative years, Lorna's passion for music blossomed as she actively participated in the high school band, PomPoms and choir while she attended Holbrook schools.

Lorna dedicated herself to her career as a peer support counselor at Change Point, where she shared her compassionate nature and wisdom with countless individuals in need. After 15 years of service at the Holbrook Tribune, Lorna had transitioned to counseling, where she wholeheartedly committed herself to helping others. A compassionate soul she dedicated her life to spreading joy and kindness wherever she went.

A biker at heart, she found solace and camaraderie on the open road. Lorna's passion for adventure and her free spirit endeared her to all who rode alongside her.

An inseparable pair, Lorna shared 32 blissful years with her devoted husband, Wendell Mitchell. Their bond was unbreakable, their love an inspiration to all who witnessed it. Exuding warmth and humor, Lorna's infectious spirit touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her quick wit and playful banter could always bring a smile to Wendell's face, their laughter echoing in the winds of time.

A devoted wife to Wendell Mitchell and a beloved mother to Patrick, Robert, Jonathan, Kelli, Justin, Cody and Chris, Lorna's nurturing presence will forever resonate in the hearts of her adoring family and friends.

Embraced by her loving parents, William Barger and June Hamm, Lorna was cherished and adored, her presence a beacon of love in their lives. They embrace her once again, as they have surely found her in heaven.

As we navigate this time of loss and quiet reflection, we celebrate the life of Lorna Elaine Barger Mitchell. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, her legacy woven into the fabric of our shared experiences. Though she may have departed this earthly realm, her light will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through the darkness with love and laughter.
