Loran Dale Peterson, 89, of Snowflake, Arizona passed away peacefully in his home on May 31, 2019. Dale was born to parents Hyrum and Anna Peterson on November 29, 1929, in Snowflake, Arizona.
He was a lifelong resident of Snowflake aside from his time in the military and when he lived for a short time in Queen Creek, AZ where he met the love of his life Vera Emogene (Jeannie) Morris. In 1954 they were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and remained devout members for the rest of their lives; serving in many different callings within the church.
Dale supported his family and retired from working at the Snowflake papermill. He enjoyed riding his bike, camping and walking. He is well known for his walks through town often 2 or 3 times a day. Dale loved to share his stories with family and those he met around town.
He was preceded in death by his wife Emogene and grandchild, Kade.
He is survived by four daughters and two sons; Lorri (Scott), Kipp (Shug), Kevin (Traci), Tanya (Kent), Deneil and DonEtta. As well as 34 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren with one more on the way and 3 great-great-grand children.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Main Street Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 48 N. Main Street, Snowflake. A viewing will be held the evening prior from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the church and the following morning at 10:00 A.M. in the Relief Society Room. Interment will follow in the R.V. "Mike" Ramsay Memorial Cemetery.
