LOIS L. PARKINSON (1935-2021)
Lois LaVonne Dehmlow was born March 28, 1935, in Windom, Minnesota. She was the oldest of four children born to Lyle and Blanche Dehmlow.
Lois attended grammar and middle schools in Minnesota and completed High School in South Dakota.
As a young adult, she worked in Minneapolis/St Paul. She eventually moved to Reedley, California where she met her husband James F. Parkinson. They were married for 45 years and had 2 children.
As an adult, Lois was educated at Reedley College and Fresno State University where she earned a B.A. in Education. She worked for the Tulare County Health Department and was a substitute teacher. She was also integrally involved with church-related activities and served as an adult Sunday School teacher and pianist for many years. In addition, she was the first female deaconess in her Church.
She is known for her kind, supportive compliments and her steadfast devotion to her faith and family. She was a compassionate mother and grandmother who loved to bake special treats. Lois spent much of her free time taking friends to doctor appointments and taking care of the sick. She will be remembered for her positive attitude, humble service to others, and her non-judgemental perspective.
She will be missed by her two sons Kurtis and James, Daughter-in-Law Jay, and her two grandsons Jett and Aiden Parkinson.
The funeral service will begin 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in the Memorial Service Building at the Reedley Cemetery, 2185 S. Reed Avenue in Reedley, California.
