Linda Sue Black, 72, of Showlow Arizona, passed away on February 3, 2024. She was born November 29, 1951 in Tucson, Arizona to Alberta and Henry Calvin Shaw.
Linda grew up going back and forth between Tucson and the White Mountains of Arizona. She graduated from Amphi High School in Tucson. She settled permanently in the White Mountains, that she loved so much, in 1977, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was very proud to be a part of this community for over 50 years.
Linda was very much an outdoors woman. She loved to fish, camp and do dutch oven cooking. She was also an excellent cook and baker. She loved oldies music including, Beach Boys, Huey Lewis and the News, Tina Turner and Alabama. She held many different jobs during her adult life. She was a medical assistant, worked for Mountain Bell, and was the head prep cook at JBs for many years. She and her first husband owned and operated their own business, Whiz Printing, of which she was extremely proud.
Some of the happiest years of Linda's life were spent being married to Terry Black. He treated her like a queen and they enjoyed life together very much.
Survivors include children, George (Sara) Rudd, and Ruby Wick; grandchildren, Gabriela, Cora, and George Rudd III, Anna Petersen, Kaley Wick, and Dezeray Lietz; and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Terry; and sister, Debbie Pundt.
She will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
A Viewing will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm at Owens Livingston Mortuary~White Mountain Chapel, 320 N 9th St., Showlow, Arizona.
Family and friends will make their way to Show Low Cemetery at 2:15 pm for the graveside service.
