Lillian “Jean” Schinke was born to Helen and Gus Blanton on August 27, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio. She was the middle of three girls. Patricia, Jean, and Mary were quite close and stayed so even through adulthood.
Jean would go on to marry Sonny Strunk and have two children, Verlin “Wayne”, and Sheryl Jean. Jean later divorced Sonny and married the love of her life, Chester Arthur Schinke. Jean and Chet soon added two more children to the bunch, Launy Arthur and Shawn Lee. After the boys were born, Jean and Chet moved to Snowflake, AZ to take over Gus’ used furniture store, AAA Furniture. Jean, Chet, and the family became active in the community, as well as the First Baptist Church, and soon became a well-known fixture in the Snowflake/Taylor area with their new business, AAA Appliances.
When Jean was fifty-one years old she became a widow. To support herself she was a caregiver at The Carriage House, where she worked for 17 years.
Jean returned home to Jesus on February 17, 2022. She will always be remembered for her generosity and willingness to care for others.
Jean is survived by her sister, Mary; sons, Wayne and Launy; daughter, Sheryl, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chet; her sister, Patricia; and her son, Shawn.
A viewing will be held Friday, February 25, 10:00a.m., with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 a.m., Owens Livingston Mortuary, 84 E. 19 S., Snowflake.
Burial will follow at Mike Ramsey Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
