Leslie Ann Adams

September 4, 1963 — July 11, 2023

Leslie Ann Adams, 59, went home to Jesus while surrounded by her loving family on July 11, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Leslie was born on September 4, 1963, in Kearny, Arizona to Aubrey and Barbara Lewis.  Her family moved all over the state of Arizona following her dad’s work as a banker.  They eventually settled in Show Low in 1973 where Leslie attended 5th through 12th grade.  She graduated from Show Low High School in 1981.

Leslie fell in love with Allan Adams, and they were married on May 1, 1982.  They had two daughters, Nicole in 1983 and Brittany in 1988.  Leslie was a stay-at-home mom and babysitter for many years.  Not just to her two girls but also to her niece, Maggie, her nephew Joey, and to many other children, including her grandbabies and her most recent “grandbaby”, Jed Parker.  When she wasn’t babysitting, she enjoyed working with Allan at their businesses, All Muffler, and White Mountain Recreation.  In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball and as her grandbabies came along, her spare time was spent spoiling them as much as possible.  Leslie also enjoyed spending time with her sister, camping and taking Harley rides with Allan and their friends.

Leslie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in April of 2018.  Since that time, she had undergone rod placement surgery in her leg and arm, a stem cell transplant, and multiple rounds of radiation and chemotherapy treatments.  It would be wrong to say that Leslie lost her battle with cancer because she never stopped fighting.  No matter how sick she was, she stayed strong and was always determined to keep going.  Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.

Being a mom and Nana was one of the most important parts of Leslie’s life and were roles that gave her much pride and joy. She was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity.  Leslie was a source of inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Leslie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Allan; their two “girls” as she affectionately called them, Nicole (Chris) Hudson and Brittany (Jonathon) Totherow; six grandbabies, Cade, Jeremiah, Cohen, Brylee, Carter, and Garrett; her mom, Barbara; her sister, Audrey (Jeff) Bevers, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her dad, Aubrey Lewis.

A graveside service will be held at Show Low Cemetery on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Leslie’s name to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

Leslie’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation for the prayers, generosity, and support during this difficult time.
