Lawrence Boone Sutton

Lawrence (Larry) Boone Sutton, age 86, went to be with God and the love of his life, his wife Mary on August 28, 2022. He was married to Mary Sutton for 64 years. Lawrence was born in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1935 to George and Loretta Sutton.

He moved to Globe, Arizona in the 1950’s. He worked for States Supply Company for 20 plus years as a bar and restaurant salesman. He built and raced cars at the dirt track in Globe every weekend.

In 1973 he and Mary moved their family to Lakeside where he went to work for ADOT.

Lawrence loved his family and really loved being a grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a great-great-grandfather. His eyes would light up when he saw them and he loved giving them advice.

He loved fishing and riding his Harley. He was the road captain of the CMA motorcycle group for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sutton; a son, Lawrence Jr.; his parents, and four brothers.

He is survived by his children, Karan Jordan, Carl ( Gudrun Zimney) Hassell, Larry Sutton & Tracy Sutton; his grandchildren: Tracy Harper, Mark Jordan Jr., Jolissa (Roman) Salas, Jon Langley, Robert Sutton, Tiffany Sutton, Bethany Sutton, Alishia (Layne) Fyffe, Chaistain Harper, Dustin Hassell, Smiles Hassell and Lacy Hassel; sister, Bonnie Menkins; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandsons.

A viewing will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Pinetop with Funeral services beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at the Old Globe Cemetery in Globe, Arizona.
