Larry Dwayne Ploughe, 78, died peacefully August 11, 2022, at his home in Show Low Arizona. He was born November 2nd, 1943, in Noblesville, Indiana to James Glenn Ploughe and Wilma Beatrice Bailey Ploughe.
Larry moved to Mesa, AZ in 1945 with his young parents. He grew up in Mesa and graduated from Mesa High School in the class of 1961. Not long after, he married his classmate and friend Patricia Alice Roby on August 31, 1963. While helping to raise a family, he worked for Motorola Semiconductors, while also attending Arizona State University and earning his bachelor’s degree in accountancy, in 1978. After joining Digital Equipment Corporation in the early 1980’s Larry earned his status as a Certified Public Accountant in 1990 and shortly thereafter opened his own accountancy practice.
In his youth, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and drag car racing in the early days of the Beeline Dragway. Later in life Larry returned to his youthful passion for horsepower and fast cars by restoring a 1968 Corvette Roadster and collecting many other cars for future projects.
Larry was an only child and is survived by his wife Patricia Ploughe; children, Michael Ploughe (Julia) and Jana Merrill; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
