Larry Wayne Cromwell, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and cherished member of the White Mountain community, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 17, 1947, in Phoenix, Arizona, Larry lived a life full of adventure, love for the outdoors, and a deep connection to his family.
From an early age, Larry embraced the spirit of adventure, often escaping the rigors of his work as a mechanic to explore the beautiful landscapes around him. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, frequently creating fond memories with his loved ones through chaotic road trips and family adventures. Larry's unconventional love language shone through these escapades, where he would often get vehicles stuck, turning each outing into an unforgettable story.
Larry's career began as a truck driver, hauling hay and driving truck. He soon found his calling as a mechanic, eventually working for his dad at Cromwell Truck Tractor . He started his own business , Larry's Diesel service in Whiteriver , AZ, where he retired decades later.
Throughout his life, Larry was not known for being the most expressive communicator, yet his love for his wife, Laura, and his children and grandchildren resonated deeply through his actions. There was a warmth and understanding in his quiet demeanor, and he imprinted many cherished memories in the hearts of those he loved.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Laura; his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren as well as his dogs and cows. He is remembered for his talent, his adventurous spirit, and the laughter he brought to every gathering.
The memorial service to honor Larry will be held at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel on February 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Attendees will celebrate the remarkable life he led and the indelible mark he left on everyone around him.
As we gather to remember Larry, we invite all those whose lives he touched to join us in sharing stories, laughter, and a few cherished moments of adventure, just as he would have wanted.
