Lafe Hall, Jr. passed away peacefully on May 22, 2018 with his family by his side at his home in Show Low. Lafe was affectionately known as JR to all who knew him. He was a lifetime resident of Show Low having been born and raised in Show Low and witnessed all the many changes that have taken place. He was the eldest son of Lafe Hall, Sr. and Lula Reidhead.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle; his eldest grandson, Lafe Edward Hall, Jr.; parents, Lafe Hall, Sr. and Lula Reidhead; brother, Van “Pick” Hall and son-in-law, John Leech, Sr. He is survived by his children, Lafe Edward (Judy), George (Dawn), Becky, Kenneth (Skeeter), Steve (Cindy) and Dale (Jacque); brother, Rex (Laura); sister, Cora Lee (Dan) and numerous nieces and nephews.
JR worked for his Uncle, Ed Reidhead at the Reidhead Sawmill for many years. While there he learned the lumber trade having worked in all aspects of the Timer Industry. He hauled lumber for Hal Butler for years and enjoyed the solitude he found while driving over the road. He owned and operated, alongside his 5 sons and 1 daughter, JR Hall and Sons Trucking for over 22 years hauling the byproducts from the Fort Apache Timber Company in Whiteriver. It was during this time he made many friends on the Ft. Apache Indian Reservation.
A very quiet, humble and private man, he could will himself to do anything. He had a heart of gold and would do just about anything for anyone. Our family finds comfort in knowing that he is reunited with his loved ones who have passed before him. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend he will be deeply missed by all.
He leaves behind a posterity of 21 grandchildren, Chelly (Shannon), Renea (Travis), Dolan (Anath), Daryl (Stephanie), Robin (Jeff), Rodney (Trina), Rachel (Shawn), Ryan (Crystal), Russell (Jessica), Heather (James), Jessie, Todd (Jody), Lindy (Adam), Mattie (Deke), Katie (Brandon), Courtney (Steven), Jordan (Lena), Branden, Christie (Grant), Charlie, Jeannie; 52 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren due this October.
