Justin Lee Poteet, known to his loved ones as “Juv”, passed away at his home in Clay Springs on Saturday, April 3, 2021 following a 7-year battle with cancer. He was born in Show Low, AZ on April 30, 1973 to proud parents John (Doris) Poteet and Bonnie Poteet. He is survived by his parents, his children Jesse Laine Poteet, JaciLynn Poteet, Taryn King, Janella Poteet, and Dallas Lynn Hillier, and his siblings Jesse Calvin (Danielle) Poteet, Nelson (Jill) Poteet, Geneva LeSueur, and Jonelle (Cliff) Sinclair. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Beth Jackson and her 4 children, and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his sister Rose Poteet, and his son Ty King.
Justin loved hunting, construction, hiking, being outdoors, working on trucks, and spending time with his loved ones. He was known for his generosity, gentle spirit, and ability to make anyone laugh. Those who knew Justin can attest that he was one of the hardest working people around, and he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked. Justin spent 7 years as a volunteer firefighter with the Clay Springs-Pinedale Volunteer Fire Department and participated in the Hashknife Pony Express ride for 4 years as well. During this time, he made many memories and lifelong friends.
A celebration of Justin’s life will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2pm at the Garvin reunion grounds, 4912 Garvin-Davis Ln, Clay Springs, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Clay Springs-Pinedale Volunteer Fire Department in honor of Justin.
