Judith Prust

Judy Marie Prust (80) of Lakeside, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in Vernon, Arizona. She was born December 6, 1942 in Wisconsin. Judy was the youngest of four girls born to John R. & Irene C. (Hugenroth) Manson.

Judy went to High School in Colorado, graduating in 1960 from Mount St. Gertude Academy, Boulder, Colorado. She was part of the BVM (Sister of Charity Blessed Virgin Mary) and became a Carmelite Nun. She continued her studies and got her nursing degree. It was her nursing that brought she and her husband Archie together. They were married September 16, 1967 and moved to Arizona. They started in Mesa and in 1970 they moved to the White Mountains. Judy is best known for being "Nurse Judy" for Dr. Garver, where she worked until 1997. Judy then went to work on the floor as a charge nurse for Navapache Medical Center in the Med/Surg department, until she retired.

Judy was involved in her Catholic Church, St. Rita's, she would teach CCD "Catechism" or CYO "Catholic Youth Organization" for years. She would also lecture, sing in the choir, help with the annual Fiesta and the summer yard sale.

Judy's family was everything to her and she spent most days being a Nana, attending games and events. Judy is survived by her two children, Joe (Melissa) Prust of Mesa, Arizona and Maria (Mitch) Garvin of Lakeside, Arizona; grandchildren, Michaela Garvin-Raimo of Lakeside, Arizona and Cory Garvin of Pinedale, Arizona; 4 great-grandson's, Ace Garvin, Kamden Raimo, Krew Raimo and Easton Garvin.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, at 11:30, with Recitation of the Rosary at 11:00, at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 1400 E. Owens St, Show Low, Arizona.

Inurnment will be in the Show Low Cemetery.
