Joyce Hooper

Joyce was born in Amarillo Texas, September 5th, 1936 to William Franklin Pope and Mary Louise McBride. She was the second born in a family that would grow to 11 children.

Joyce married Jearl Authur Hooper on September 17th 1953 in Estancia, New Mexico. Jearl was in the army and 15 months later they welcomed the first of their 5 children.

Their story was full of love, laughter and of course at time tears. As time went on the children married and moved away, Jearl and Joyce retired and were able to spend time traveling to their children's family's and their brothers, sisters and mothers and dad's. Family was very important to both of them.

When Jearl went Home in 2020, Joyce lived and visited at her children's homes. Traveling from New Mexico to Arizona to Alabama, she loved to travel.

Joyce is preceded in Death by Frank and Mary Pope, Brothers: Jim Pope and Tom Pope, Sisters: Nadine Pope, Lillie Holley and Sue Hobson, Daughter Jalita Stever (Rob) Son Jeff Hooper (Debbie) and Granddaughters: Cheryl Madrid, Jennifer Hooper and Sheena Madrid.

She is survived by Sisters: Linda Thomas (David) and Carolyn Clark (Doyle), Brothers: Don Pope (Trixie) Sam Pope (Catherine) and Ron Pope (Carol) Daughters: Jamela Dial (Rex) Jacquetta Harvey (Mike) and Son Jimmy Hooper (Randee) 12 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. And Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Memorial Services wil be held May 4th at Blue Ridge Christian Center in Pinetop Arizona.
