Becky Leech

March 26, 1952 — March 5, 2019

Josephine Rebecca Leech, age 66, passed away peacefully March 5, 2019 at her home with family by her side.  Josephine was affectionately known as "Becky" and "Josey" to all who knew her.  She was born, March 26, 1952 in Phoenix, Arizona to the late Lafe Hall, Jr and Estelle Pettyjohn Hall.  When she was strong enough, her parents brought her home to Show Low, Arizona where she was raised with her five brothers, completing her school years and graduated from Snowflake High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A Leech, Sr.; her parents, Lafe Hall, Jr and Estelle Pettyjohn Hall; her eldest nephew, Lafe Edward Hall. She is survived by her brothers, Lafe Edward(Judy), George(Dawn), Kenneth(Skeeter), Steve(Cindi), and Dale(Jacque) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Becky wore many hats but none more important than mom, grandma and newly great-grandma. Her oldest daughter, Heather Cowger(James), Eric Payton Holland, Rebecca Paige Holland, Landon Porter Cowger, with great-grandson Benjamin Lafe; her youngest daughter, Jessica Jean Ballandby, sons Mitchell Craig Ballandby and Jonathan David Ballandby.

Becky worked hard with a smile, every day of her life.  When she was young she diligently helped her mom with cooking, cleaning, and laundry. She loved roller skating, so she made money as a car hop at the old A&W Root Beer. She bussed tables, waitressed along her mother's side.  She still made time to be Varsity Cheerleader, play softball, but her game was mostly Baseball with her brothers and tagging along to the Rodeos. She was an attendant to Miss Navajo County.

Itching to grow up she took the Banking path.  She started working at Valley National Bank as a teller, working her way up to Mortgage Loans and Recovery.  After years in Banking, she shuffled back into the waitress role, but not for long. Quickly her talents were spotted and an Insurance Adjuster hired her to report, file claims and sell Insurance. Around work she coached girls softball teams, was Primary President, and Young Women's Teacher for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She then took on her longest and last role to begin working for her parents as Administrator/bookkeeper for their business JR Hall and Sons Trucking.

She was liked and loved by all, wherever she went or whomever she talked to. She was a community Mom and Grandma. Never heard an unkind word about her, nor did she utter mean words about others. She stood by her parents daily, in work and in their daily needs.  She was always cheering, teaching or helping the youth.

Her free time was always involving grandkids. Weather it's watching any pro sports together or cheering loudly on the sidelines for her girls games and grandkids events. Taking in a Spring Training Game in Tempe, Arizona or watching her favorite Dallas Cowboys, her long time favorite.  She enjoyed camping at our traditional family Kids Day, hunting with the boys, fishing and boating with her husband and family at Roosevelt Lake and Lake Powell. She could slalom water ski up until the age of 60. In down time she enjoyed jig saw puzzles and saduko.  She was a loving and giving wife, a devoted daughter, a doating sister, a reliable friend for life, a thoughtful and giving mother, a vibrant soul and most of all, she was a Crazy Fun Loving Anything goes kinda Grandma.
