John Ziglar

April 10, 1934 — December 3, 2022

John Farrel Ziglar passed away in the early morning of Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, at the age of 88, with his beloved wife and family by his side.

John was born in Escambia County, Florida, to John Harvey Ziglar and Ruby Lola Ziglar on April 10th, 1934. The oldest of four sons, John worked on his family’s farm in Alabama until he graduated from Robertsdale High School in 1951. He attended Auburn University, graduated in 1955 and immediately enlisted in the Navy. John attended officer candidate school and became a naval aviator in 1957. He worked hard to attain the rank of lieutenant commander in the reserves.

John had two children of his own and later met Lorraine and her four children and they joined their families together and built a home in Concow, California. John had learned to work hard at a young age in school and on the family farm, and taking what he learned as a young man in the Navy, he created a tax service business in Oroville, California. John and Lorraine recently moved to Show Low, Arizona, to be closer to some of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow, reading about history, gardening at his home, traveling with his wife and watching the news.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Ruby; parents-in-law Frank and Marie, brothers Terry, Jimmy (Charlotte), and Floyd (Judy); brother-in-law Karl; stepson Glen.

John is survived by his wife Lorraine; son Larry; daughter Belinda; stepdaughter Kathleen; stepsons Timothy and Stephen; daughter-in-law Sandra; brothers-in-law Frank (Roberta) and Robert (Cheryl, Jennifer); and sister-in-law Flo.

John is also survived by his grandchildren and their families:  Megan (Michael, Dylan & Emma); Andrea (Will & Anajoy); Kyra (Dave, Sophia, Ella, Aiden, Liam, Alexander & Dominic); Gregory (Roberta, Gannon & Abbygayle); Brandon (Lisa, Logan, Bailey & Riley); Natalie (Kevin, Cameron & Niko); Steven; Ashley (Cody, Alissyn & Brylee); Sara Rae (Lydia & Dominic); Emily (Steve, Joshua & Amelia); Thomas.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2023.
