John Michael Vigil, Sr.

It is with great sadness that the family of John Michael Vigil, Sr., has announced his sudden passing on June 28, 2018 at Summit hospital in Show Low, Arizona. He was born December 16, 1962 in Pueblo, Colorado to his father, Joe Gilbert Vigil and his mother Mary Estella Montoya.

John enjoyed fishing and he LOVED his Denver Broncos (GO BRONCOS!). John always held his family close to his heart.  They were all so important to him, especially his grandchildren whom he loved and enjoyed spending time with more than anything. He adored coaching his boys and grandchildren in sports. He took great pride in his children’s success in all aspects of life. John was an exceptional husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Anyone who came across John became his friend. He has taken a huge piece of our hearts, and life as we know it will never be the same. John Michael Vigil, Sr. will forever be missed by everyone that knew him.

 John is survived, loved and will always be remembered by his loving wife. Sue Marko and two sons, John (Bianca) Vigil of Taylor AZ., and Gilbert (Brandi) Vigil of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren that he loved very much; Merissa, Erika, Xavior, Eliana, Izabella, Arayah, Adanias, Scarlette and Gionna “his little GG.” siblings Joe, Ralph, Andy, Robert, Fred, Doug, Cecilia, Ruth, and Joann. John is preceded in death by his mother Mary Stella, two brothers, Luis and Andreas and sister, Maxine. He will sadly be missed by his vast extended family and friends.  

A public viewing and Friends calling will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Friday - July 6, 2018 at Owens Livingston Mortuary - White Mountain Chapel, 320 N. 9th Street, Show Low, Arizona. A celebration of his life will be held after services at John (L.J.) and Bianca's home at 214 N. 800 East, Taylor, Arizona.
