Jimmy Roy Petersen, son of Jimmy Petersen and Jewel Bliss passed away quietly in his home on Friday, September 14, 2018 in Joseph City, Navajo County, Arizona. He was born on December 8, 1958 in Snowflake, Navajo County, Arizona. Jimmy was the father of three, James Petersen, Belinda Petersen and Dwayne Petersen; he is also the proud grandpa of fourteen grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. Jimmy was an avid fisherman, and was quick to tell you he had caught the biggest. He enjoyed traveling the open road to marvel at the scenery. Jimmy was a collector of tools. His grandchildren were the greatest loves of his life. Jimmy started out with a passion for logging in the White Mountains. During the off season, he would work on the log trucks which gave birth to a new passion. Jimmy dedicated his life to the profession of Diesel Mechanic. He was known far and wide for his expertise on the subject. Driver's would travel hundreds of miles just to have Jimmy's heart and knowing mind work on their trucks. They were entrusting their livelihood to the best. Jimmy always came through for them even if they could not pay. Jimmy was known for his service to his family, friends and even strangers. Once he met you, you were strangers no more.Along with his children, Jimmy is survived by his siblings; Judy Wood, Mary Granato, Doyle Petersen, Lenny Wilkie and Violet Petersen.This great man will be laid to rest, Friday, September 21, 2018 with a visitation from 9:00-9:45 A.M., The funeral service will begin at 10:00 A.M., at the Joseph City Midway Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Joseph City, Arizona. The concluding service and interment will immediately follow at the Joseph City Cemetery.
