Jimmy K. Allred passed away June 6, 2023. He was born April 25th, 1939, in Midland, TX.
He was preceded in death by his wonderful wife and high school sweetheart of 64 years, Barbara; his brother, Wayne; mother, Cornell; and father, Oliver Jean. Jim and Barbara leave behind four children: Lori, Jim, Gary, and Brandi; as well as 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In the late 1960s, Jim worked as a supervisor for North American Rockwell, a company that made heat shields for the Apollo rockets that would eventually land on the moon. Later, he went to Fullerton College and worked at the City of Fullerton Police Department for 25 years; he retired as a Detective. He and Barbara lived and raised their children in La Habra, CA and, after he retired, they moved to Vernon, AZ. Jim loved wildlife and traveling with his wife. Some of their travels took them to Alaska and as far south as the Panama Canal. They enjoyed seeing the sights of the country they loved so much.
Jim and Barbara were both devoted members of the High Country Church of Christ.
Services will be held at High Country Church of Christ, 3201 Hwy 260, Showlow, Arizona, on Saturday, July 29th, at 10:00 am.
