James Lee Serrano

September 19, 1947 — September 20, 2021

James Lee Serrano, 74, passed away September 20, 2021 in Lakeside, Arizona. He was born September 19, 1947 and had just celebrated his 74th birthday surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Jack Serrano and Joy Haynes, both deceased, and grew up in Bakersfield, California.

Jim wanted to be cremated and the family will gather at the Grand Canyon to celebrate his life and wishes at a later date. Jim loved his family, fishing and had a gentle quiet faith in God and loved the outdoors. He was a man of many talents doing woodworking, building western models, theater sets, construction and an artist. Jim lived quite an exciting life and always had a story to tell and we all loved to hear them.

Jim is survived by his wife of 40 years, Reba Serrano; 4 children: Mike Serrano (Tasha), Kristi Serrano, James Serrano (Jillian), and Jennifer Noriega (Nic); 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson as well as his beloved sister, Janet “Cookie” Smiley.

We thank Russell and Tim at Owens Livingston Mortuary of Show Low for handling the cremation.
