Isidro Serna Baca

November 14, 1941 — June 6, 2021

Isidro Serna Baca passed away quietly on June 6, 2021, in Gilbert, AZ, at the Benzen Healing Hands care facility. He was born November 14, 1941, in Holbrook, Arizona where he was raised by his parents Fred and Ramona Garcia. Isidro was a lifetime resident of Arizona.

Isidro was a mechanic for much of his adult life. He started his mechanic career at an early age washing cars for the Heward Motor Company.  This progressed to work as a mechanic which he did for over 20 years. He then went on to work for the Holbrook School District and later the Arizona Department of Transportation as a master mechanic. He retired from the State of Arizona with over 24 years of service. Isidro was also well known for helping family and friends with their automobile problems after his full-time job.

When Isidro was not working, he was an avid baseball fan, supporting his favorite team the Arizona Diamondbacks. He also spent much time in the outdoors of Northern Arizona. When he wasn’t hunting in the forest in and around Heber and Escudilla Mountain he was fishing the lakes of the White Mountains.

Isidro is survived by his 5 children: 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend a rosary which will be held at 9:30 am followed by funeral services at 10:00 am Friday, June 18, 2021, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 225 E. Arizona St. Holbrook AZ. Interment will follow at the Holbrook cemetery.

A reception will follow the graveside services at the Holbrook Elks Lodge, 714 Elkdon Ave, Holbrook AZ.
