God has accepted a “gentle” man of only 58 yrs. old into Heaven. Henry Uzarowicz passed away peacefully on June 20, 2023, at Haven Health in Show Low, AZ. He was born in Miami, Florida on September 14, 1964. Henry was the son of Polish parents, Walter, and Dana Uzarowicz, who passed away in 1997 and 1994, respectfully. Henry is survived by his sister, Irene Phillips.
His sister and brother-in-law, Lenny Phillips, brought Henry to The White Mountains from Los Angeles when he was suffering from an eventual left leg, below-the-knee amputation due to a scooter accident by an illegal alien. Lenny and Irene took care of Henry at their home for six years. They prepared a beautiful bedroom for him, provided meals, medications, transportation, VA Dr. appointments. Taking him quadding, to the movies, out to events. Henry loved to spend time with their six Siberian Huskies at the house. The Huskies would follow Henry everywhere he went.
He spent his last year in and out of hospitals for a multitude of problems. The last few months, he had a horrible fight with a heel pressure sore after being neglected at Desert Blossom Health & Rehab in Mesa, AZ, where his wound was not properly treated. Due to Henry’s morbidities, no surgery was possible, and he eventually died of sepsis. One of the most debilitating ailments Henry had was diabetes. Please, please if you are reading this, and you have diabetes, take care of your sugar intake, your feet, drink plenty of water and take your medications!
Henry served his country from 1983-1987 in the United States Air Force as Senior Airman with an Honorable Discharge.
Henry worked for United Airlines in Los Angeles for 27years and loved to travel the world. He was a very giving person, and forgiving person, who enjoyed people. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. He spent 13 years in Florida and the rest of his healthy years in California. Besides traveling, he was an avid advanced level snow skier, who won many awards. Also enjoyed jet skiing up to the time of his amputation. And boy did he love to drive! Any time he had some extra time on his hands, Henry would take drives to local parts of our great and beautiful country.
Henry will be greatly missed, but we know he is in a better place with God and Family.
