Glen Patrick Kenney

July 12, 1962 — April 28, 2018

Upon the devastating and sudden loss of our beloved Glen Patrick Kenney on Saturday, April 28, 2018, we pause to shine a light on his generous, loving and sweet nature in hopes that this exercise will assuage some of our grief.  Glen was born on July 12, 1962 in Torrance, California. After the loss of his father, Thomas, who passed away when Glen reached just four years of age, and then bestowed with the nicknames of “Benny Oyskins” and “Glenny Penny” by his beloved Uncle Karl at this tender beginning, Glen naturally took on the beautiful quality of caring for the “little ones” in his life at a very young age. In truth, the care and protection of his baby brother, Stephen, along with extracting life’s enjoyment at every opportunity, guided his very existence. Along with Kathleen and Tim, the four siblings became a veritable Wizard of Oz quartet who followed their dreams and marched through life as a team. Over the years, Glen faithfully retained his inner child, never became too self-important and always kept family and his friends close at heart, loved ones for whom Glen would make any sacrifice. Once fatherhood arrived, Glen unabashedly swam through life awash in his pride and joy over Gregory and Ashley, tenderly caring for them and creating new bonds with them into their adulthood. As nephews, nieces and grandchildren sprouted over the years, Glen cultivated his little garden of tender loved ones, always delighting in sharing life’s simple moments, fishing, playing ball, hosting barbeque events, and embracing fun as a way of life. These beautiful little blooms sought Shrampa’s gentle spirit and loving heart as their guiding light, and they yearned for his presence at every moment.
