Garrie Norton

Garrie Ann Norton passed away January 6, 2025 at 90 years old. Garrie was born March 6, 1934 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to William and Opal Bentley.

From Oklahoma their family moved to Arizona for several years, before eventually settling in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1950. It was there Garrie spent the majority of her life and where she would find her eternal sweetheart, John Edward Norton.

Garrie and John were married and had two children, Brenda and Bart. In 1963 they met a couple of missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and this chance meeting changed the direction of their lives. They joined the church and a year later John and Garrie were sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple.

Many good people influenced their lives and being active in church callings brought Garrie much joy and happiness. Garrie loved her children and grandchildren (6) and her great-grandchildren (7) as well as her many great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Sandia Memorial Gardens in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
