The Irwin family lost their brightest light September 28, 2023, she was 93. Frances was born May 3, 1930. We lost our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, but so much more, our Compass, heart, friend and matriarch. She was a loving intelligent, sweet, caring, kind, patient, understanding and supportive soul.
How can anyone sum up someone's life in a few sentences? Moreover, how can you sum up the impact that person has had on so many lives. She made us all feel so loved, AND WE loved her so dearly. Our loss is deep, and yet we know her love will linger with us forever...
Frances Cecilia Irwin made her final journey home, at her home in Nutrioso, Arizona with her family by her side. The daughter of George and Caroline Kolb, She was born in Taylor Michigan.
Frances met her husband, Patrick L. Irwin of 43 years while working in an Insurance Company in Detroit at the age of 18. They were married on July 15, 1950 and began their family of 4. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker during the schooling years where she cared for her children. Frances was a wonderful cook, homemaker, loving wife and mother. After her children completed school she returned back to work until she retired in her 60's. She was a loving force in the life of her 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her children, Patrick, Brian and Diana as well as her grandchildren, Vincent, Stephen, Emily, Patrick, Rebecca, Kenneth, Samantha and Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Evan, Charlotte, Isa, Zo, William and Liam. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Patrick Louis Irwin; father, George Kolb; mother, Caroline Cecilia Kolb; brother, Gene Kolb; son, Desmond Louis Irwin; daughter-in-law, Ingrid Irwin.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M. at the St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns, Arizona. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 on November 11, 2023 followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Frances will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in South Field, Michigan. All are welcome to attend.
*** Perhaps if anyone is interested in continuing the charity that Frances and Patrick started many years ago, you might donate to feeding the poor children of the world (or home), sending funds to Assist the Indian Schools in the Plains, making care packages for the homeless, etc... That would make her happy.
